Recycled, Not Landfilled
Every mattress goes to a Bye Bye Mattress collection site, where it is broken down into steel, foam, fibre and timber for reuse. Roughly three-quarters of a mattress is recoverable.
Mattress and box spring disposal across Hemet and the San Jacinto Valley. Any size, any condition. California bans mattresses from ordinary trash, so every one we collect goes to a state-certified recycler under the Bye Bye Mattress program — not to Lamb Canyon.

A mattress is the classic stuck item. It will not fit in a bin, it will not fit in most cars, the landfill will not take it as general trash, and leaving it at the curb is illegal dumping — $250 to $1,000 for a first offence under California Penal Code 374.3, and up to $3,000 for repeats.
California solved the disposal side with a statewide program. Every mattress and box spring sold in the state carries a recycling fee, collected at purchase and administered by the Mattress Recycling Council. That fee has already been paid on the mattress in your spare room. What it does not cover is somebody getting it out of the house and to a collection site.
Bed bugs? Say so when you book. It changes nothing about the price, but it changes how we bag and route the item — and a recycler will refuse an infested mattress that arrives unwrapped.
It is the one household item with a dedicated statewide recycling scheme, a landfill ban and a fine attached to getting it wrong.

The state recycling fee was collected when the mattress was sold. We do not add it again — the price you are quoted is for the collection and the carry.
Soiled, torn, waterlogged or infested. Condition does not change the price and it does not stop it being recycled, provided it is bagged correctly.
Upstairs, down a narrow stair turn, out of a back unit. A king mattress in a stairwell is a two-person job and the carry is already in the price.
Usually the same day or the next, seven days a week. Handy when a new bed is being delivered and the old one has to be gone first.
We wrap before we carry, so nothing sheds through the house and the recycler will accept it on arrival.
No upsells on the day and no surprises on the invoice — this is the standard scope of work.
The most recyclable type — the steel coil unit is recovered whole.
Foam is shredded for carpet underlay and padding.
Timber frame and steel both recovered; the fabric is the only waste.
Thinner, but they still cannot go in general trash.
Small enough to add to any other load at no real cost.
Still recyclable. Bagged on site so the recycler will accept it.
Sealed and bagged before it leaves the room. Tell us in advance.
Metal to scrap, timber to landfill or recovery depending on finish.
One mattress is a single-item job. Multiple sets from a rental, a dorm or an estate are priced as a load.
One mattress, or a mattress and box spring set from any room in the house.
Final price confirmed after a free on-site estimate.
Three or four sets — a rental turnover or a family clearing several bedrooms.

There are three legitimate routes and one expensive mistake. Which one is right depends mostly on whether you can move it yourself.
This is not a local bylaw or a landfill preference. California operates a statewide mattress recycling program, certified by CalRecycle and run by the Mattress Recycling Council, and mattresses are kept out of ordinary disposal as a result.
The mechanics are worth knowing because they are in your favor. A recycling fee is added to every mattress and box spring sold in the state and collected at the point of sale. That money funds a network of collection sites and events — more than 240 permanent drop-offs statewide, with most Californians living within fifteen miles of one.
So if you have a truck and a free Saturday morning, taking it yourself is genuinely the cheapest option and we will say so on the phone. What you are paying us for is the part the program does not cover: getting a king mattress down a staircase and into a vehicle.
A load is not one thing going to one place. It gets split at the truck, and on a typical household job well over half of it never reaches a landfill at all.
Furniture, housewares, tools, books and clothing in usable condition go to a local charity partner rather than to the tip. If you want a donation receipt, say so when you book and we will ask for one.
Metal goes to scrap, electronics to a certified e-waste processor, mattresses to a state-certified mattress recycler, and green waste to a green-waste facility. Sealed appliances go to a recycler who recovers the refrigerant first.
Only what is genuinely finished. For this valley that means Lamb Canyon Landfill on Lamb Canyon Road in Beaumont, the Riverside County site that takes household refuse and construction debris.
What we cannot take at all is household hazardous waste — paint, solvents, motor oil, pesticides, pool chemicals, propane and asbestos. Riverside County accepts most of those free at the Beaumont ABOP and PaintCare facility. Tell us what you have when you book and we will point you at the right drop-off rather than turning up and refusing the load.
Three things that make a mattress collection quicker, and one that decides whether it can be recycled at all.
Sheets, protectors and blankets are textiles, not mattress. They go in a different stream, and leaving them on slows the recycler down at the other end.
It does not change the price, but it changes everything else. We bring sealed bags and wrap the mattress inside the room. An infested mattress that arrives unwrapped gets refused at the facility.
A mattress on its own rarely fills the minimum. The box spring, the bed frame and the headboard usually ride along for very little extra, and it saves booking a second trip.

Call NowFrom $89 for a single mattress, including the carry-out from any room and the delivery to a certified recycler. A mattress and box spring set together is typically $110 to $140. Several sets from a rental or an estate are priced as a load, which usually works out cheaper per item.
No. California bans mattresses and box springs from ordinary trash disposal, and leaving one at the curb without a scheduled collection is illegal dumping — $250 to $1,000 for a first offence under Penal Code 374.3. Your options are a free drop-off at a collection site, a scheduled CR&R bulky pickup if you have one left, or a private hauler.
Yes, if you can move it. Bye Bye Mattress collection sites and Riverside County landfills take mattresses for recycling free of charge, because the recycling fee was paid when it was bought. You need a truck or van and you need to get it there during opening hours — Lamb Canyon closes at 4:30pm and is shut on Sundays.
Yes. Tell us when you book so we bring sealed bags and wrap it inside the room before it is carried out. That protects your hallway and the truck, and it means the recycler will accept it on arrival. It does not change the price.
Yes, and it is usually the cheapest time to do it. Metal frames go to scrap, timber frames and headboards are landfilled or recovered depending on the finish. Adding them to a mattress collection costs far less than booking a separate pickup later.
It is broken down at a certified recycling facility. The steel coil unit goes to scrap, the foam is shredded into carpet underlay, the timber from the box spring is chipped for mulch and the cotton fibre becomes filler. Roughly three-quarters of a mattress by weight is recovered rather than buried.
We cover Hemet, San Jacinto and the surrounding valley, out to Temecula, Moreno Valley and the Pass. If your community is not listed, it is still worth asking.
